Optimal Acre

As one crop comes off the field, it's the ideal time to start thinking about the next one, and the best way to do that is with MKC’s Optimal Acre program.  Optimal Acre is a deferred payment, grid soil sampling, and variable rate fertilizer program that will help you lower your cost of production, increase yields, and make data-driven decisions for maximum profitability, all for $3.25/ac per year.  With another year of spotty rainfall and hot weather, we are seeing, on average, anywhere from 20-50#/ac of mineralized or carryover nitrogen in the top 6in grid soil test samples as of recently.  Using a $0.53 for a unit of N, that is $10.60/ac savings on finding just 20#N/ac and $26.50/ac with 50#/N/ac.  Also, our simplified, non-crop-specific VRT prescription approach makes leveraging valuable information very easy year after year.
