Producer Ag Spring Update: Meetings 2025

Mar 10, 2025
In February 2025, Producer Ag hosted six annual spring update meetings over two weeks, engaging 184 grower partners. The meetings provided valuable insights for the 2025 crop year and gathered feedback from attendees. This year's meetings focused on agronomic planning, margin protection, and on-farm revenue.

Key Discussions:
MKC agronomy experts participated, highlighting the importance of crop protection and fertilization to maximize yield potential. Early planning and understanding of farm production costs offer producers options throughout the growing season. Despite tight margins and challenging weather over the past few years, maintaining high levels of farm APH is crucial for guaranteed on-farm revenue.

Producer Ag's Crop Insurance Specialists addressed crop insurance offerings, emphasizing the importance of elections to protect and sustain farm APH. Additionally, discussions on Farm Bill elections focused on decisions between Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC), tailored to individual farm needs and planting intentions.

The decline in commodity prices over the past year has added stress to the situation. Producer Ag's Grain Marketing Specialist provided insights into the current commodity market, considering both domestic and global influences. They discussed future opportunities and the importance of having a plan to act on profitable opportunities using Producer Ag's available tools. Understanding your farm and what works best forms the bedrock of a robust marketing plan.

Producer Ag extends its gratitude to all partners within agriculture. For more detailed farm planning, crop insurance information, and commodity market protection, producers are encouraged to reach out to their Producer Ag Crop Insurance Specialist or Grain Marketing Specialist.
